EDTNA/ERCA European Dialysis and Transplant Nurses Association / European Renal Care Association
Research Board

EDTNA/ERCA Research Board was established to promote research and provide opportunities for EDTNA/ERCA Members to learn and take part in multi-centre research projects organised through the Collaborative Research Programme (CRP).

The CRP offers Members an easy way to get involved in work based renal care research. By participating in a CRP project, Members can share knowledge, experience and learn from others.

The data analysis is carried out by the Research Board Statistician in conjunction with the project co-ordinators and Members of the Board. The results are compiled and presented at conferences and made available subsequently to all participants. The project co-ordinators will then write an article(s) for submission to the Journal of Renal Care.

The Research Projects include:

  • Practice Guidelines for Water Quality
  • European Practice Database
  • Paediatric Access Care
  • Epidemiology and Management of HCV in Haemodialysis
  • Management of Vascular Access in Europe. Part 1 - A Study of Centre Based Policies
  • Provision of Dietary Advice in Selected Centres across Europe
  • Treatment of Water for Dialysis - A European Survey
  • Availability of Pre-treatment Counselling
  • Post Insertion Catheter Care in Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) Centres across Europe Part 2: Complication Rate and Individual Patient Outcomes
