The European Dialysis and Transplant Nurses Association/European Renal Care Association (EDTNA/ERCA) was established in 1971 to address the special educational needs of nurses and other healthcare professionals caring for patients who suffer from Chronic Kidney Disease. This includes all aspects of renal treatment prevention and early detection of Chronic Kidney Disease, management of dialysis therapy, transplantation and supportive care. Association membership is open to nurses, technicians, social workers, dieticians, unit managers, transplant co-ordinators, and any other professionals working with renal patients.
