Dear Colleagues,

The organisers of the 49th EDTNA/ERCA International Conference, September 12th - 15th, 2020 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, are closely monitoring the current situation regarding the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19). All measures and regulations recommended or imposed by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as well as by the Slovenian Ministry of Health are being implemented.

Preparations for the 49th EDTNA/ERCA conference are well underway and are going ahead as planned. We anticipate an outstanding congress in the beautiful city of Ljubljana. Of course we will constantly monitor the situation and will issue further information as necessary.

It is with great pleasure and pride that we invite you to join us in Ljubljana where our 49th EDTNA/ERCA  International Conference, September 12th - 15th, 2020 will take place. Ljubljana is Slovenia’s capital and largest city and it’s known for its university population and green spaces.

The theme of our Conference is ‘Knowledge, Skills & Commitment – Core Elements to Manage Care’. During the last two International Conferences, 2018 and 2019 our focus has been on ‘Balancing Compassion and Health Technologies’ and the integration of it. Next step is to Manage Care and the implementation of the learnings. Learnings which you get during the Conference participating in our well planned Scientific Programme including Educational Sessions and Workshops.

Our Conference will take place at the Cankar Centre also known as Cankarjev dom or Cankar Hall. Cankarjev dom is the largest Slovenian convention, congress and culture center. The building was designed by the architect Edvard Ravnikar and was built at the southern edge of Republic Square in Ljubljana between 1977 and 1982.

The Conference is a forum for sharing the best research and innovations in practice and helps in initiating and promoting quality renal research and practice around the world. It is a showcase for the latest technology and innovation in the treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease. Be Green with EDTNA/ERCA – Green Excellence in Dialysis

EDTNA/ERCA is happy to present a new green strategy. For several years the Association has fulfilled its task of high quality service principles with its mission and vision, while maintaining a sustainable and responsible approach. This year the Association will focus on the Green Excellence in Dialysis strategy, which will include various educational activities supporting the incorporation of environmentally friendly practices in renal care delivery. Our main goal for 2020 is to integrate awareness and adoption of sustainable as well as environmentally friendly procedures in the EDTNA/ERCA International Conference learning process. Please follow our website and social media to learn more about our green activities and commitment.

In spite of the deadline for submitting abstracts, we would like to give you a chance to contribute more on this topic and share your ideas and experience in this area. Therefore, we deliberately keep the topic Sustainability and Green approach open and you can still submit your abstracts with this topic.
